3 kWh comparison
DELTA 3 Ultra vs Ultra Plus: fixed capacity or expansion?
The Ultra and Ultra Plus share the same base battery and AC output: 3,072 Wh nameplate LFP storage, 3,600 W continuous 120 V AC, and a listed 7,200 W surge. The distinction is expansion, solar input, 12 V connections and smart output prioritization—not a bigger standalone inverter. If the electrical load fits both, your charging and future-capacity plan decides which nameplate is more useful.
Where the Plus differs
| Published US specification | DELTA 3 Ultra | DELTA 3 Ultra Plus |
|---|---|---|
| Manual model / standalone SKU | EF-DL-H01-3U / EFDELTA3U-US | EF-DL-H02-3UP / EFDELTA3UPLUS-US |
| Base battery | 3,072 Wh LFP | 3,072 Wh LFP |
| Rated AC output | 3,600 W at 120 V; 7,200 W surge | 3,600 W at 120 V; 7,200 W surge |
| Solar input | One input, 800 W maximum | Two inputs, 800 W each / 1,600 W total |
| Expansion | None listed for this variant | Compatible Max Plus extra battery; also an 11 kWh upper claim with other equipment |
| 12 V DC | 126 W car-style outlet | 378 W shared Anderson/car section; car outlet alone 126 W |
| Smart Output Priority | Not offered for this variant in EcoFlow's comparison | Yes, app feature |
| Approximate station weight | 32.7 kg / 72.1 lb | 33.7 kg / 74.3 lb |
The Plus’s 1,600 W figure is a maximum input, not a forecast of daily solar energy. The two PV/DC inputs are each limited to 11–60 V, 18 A and 800 W. Each array must fit the stated electrical window, and shade, temperature, orientation and cables determine what actually arrives. Ultra’s single 800 W input is enough if the panel plan is deliberately smaller or if that setup is primarily recharged from AC or generator sources.
Expansion is a specific package, not a vague promise
The basic Ultra is a fixed 3,072 Wh unit. The Plus manual and EcoFlow’s extra-battery manual establish one concrete option: the DELTA 3 Max Plus Smart Extra Battery, model EF-DL3-MP-EB, rated at 2,048 Wh, is compatible with Ultra Plus. With that one pack, the nameplate storage is 5,120 Wh. This does not increase the 3,600 W AC ceiling, and it adds about 35 lb to move. It is not part of the standalone Ultra Plus box unless the exact order says so.
EcoFlow also promotes an 11 kWh system using two DELTA Pro 3 extra batteries. That maximum is a useful flag that larger configurations exist, but the specific battery model codes, adapters and complete topology were not fully traced here. Do not treat 11 kWh as the base station’s capacity or use the headline to assume that every accessory combination is supported. Ask the manufacturer for the exact current wiring and included parts before making a system-level backup plan.
Check whether the ports change your use
Both models are substantial 120 V stations rather than lightweight USB packs. Their US manuals list four 20 A receptacles and one 30 A receptacle, subject to the shared 3,600 W station rating. Neither model provides US 240 V split-phase output. A 30 A receptacle is not proof of 240 V; use the exact rated voltage and an appropriately designed transfer arrangement for any home circuits.
The Plus’s Anderson port is useful only if a 12 V appliance and cable actually use that connector and current level. EcoFlow rates the Anderson output at 378 W, but the car-style socket shares that total and is limited to 126 W itself. Ultra has only the 126 W car-style output. Likewise, Smart Output Priority is an app feature that lets the user prioritize selected outputs; it does not create additional energy or a separate high-voltage circuit.
Size and handling need a real answer
Manual net weights are approximately 32.7 kg (72.1 lb) for Ultra and 33.7 kg (74.3 lb) for Ultra Plus. Wheels and a telescoping handle make rolling easier on a suitable surface, but carrying upstairs, lifting over a car sill and moving across rough ground remain significant. Neither should be treated as weatherproof; both manuals list IP20. Plan a dry, ventilated space and follow the manual’s storage and temperature directions.
Which one fits?
Choose Ultra when 3,072 Wh, 3,600 W, one 800 W solar input and 126 W car-style DC are enough, and you do not need future battery expansion. Choose Ultra Plus if you will use the larger dual-solar ceiling, Anderson DC output, Smart Output Priority or a compatible battery. If neither model’s capabilities justify a 70-plus-pound station, compare the 1 kWh DELTA 3 Plus or the 2 kWh DELTA 3 Max Plus instead; they offer smaller battery plans with materially lower AC ratings.
