Compare Explorer 5000 Plus packages by what arrives

Jackery's Explorer 5000 Plus offers share the JE-5000A station, but the selected SKU determines whether panels, an extra battery, and transfer equipment come in the same order. A package is not just a different sticker on the same box. Identify the exact retail option first, then map it to a charging, storage and electrical plan that you can actually use.

• Two SolarSaga 500 X — 60-5050-USA1A1: station plus two named panels; no expansion pack or Smart Transfer Switch.
• Two panels + Smart Transfer Switch — 60-5050-USA112: same panel pair and one switch, but still no expansion pack.
• Station + Smart Transfer Switch — 60-5000-USA1A1: switch is included; no panel or expansion pack.
• 10 kWh + Smart Transfer Switch — 60-505000-US00013: one station, one 5,040 Wh Battery Pack 5000 Plus and a switch; no panel.
• Home Backup Kit 20 kWh — 60-505000-US00057: two stations, two battery packs and one switch; this is a distinct paired-system offer.

The standalone JE-5000A is 5,040 Wh nameplate and rated for up to 7,200 W AC output. One included pack makes 10,080 Wh nameplate storage without raising the station's inverter rating. The Home Backup Kit has two station-and-pack combinations: its manual-documented paired 240 V system is a different plan from using one station alone. Do not add the output of two separate stations unless the exact paired connection and operating mode are documented. The paired 14,400 W rating is not each outlet's rating; paired surge and solar input are not assumed here.

Panel wattage and station input are different facts

The two 500 X bundles supply named panels, but that does not certify 1,000 W charging through the station at all times. JE-5000A has a high-PV MC4 route at 135–450 V / 15 A up to 4,000 W, and a separate low-PV route through two DC 8 mm ports at 16–60 V / 10.5 A each, 1,200 W combined. The JS-500A panel manual lists 41.7 V ±5% at maximum power and 12 A ±5% current; the live product page currently displays a different 545 W ±5% headline. The panel voltage alone is below the high-PV minimum and its manual current is at or above the low-PV port limit. No full-nameplate 500 X array plan is confirmed here. Use the exact current connection guide and supported cables; avoid an improvised series/adapter arrangement.

Smart Transfer Switch is not a manual switch

The switch is household electrical equipment, not a plug-in strip. Jackery describes up to 12 120 V circuits or 6 240 V circuits depending on the installation. The maker requires a qualified electrician. Confirm service, panel compatibility, chosen circuits, load balance, wiring and code before buying. A switch in a box does not mean the whole house is backed up. It also does not raise the battery's watt-hours or the station's output rating.

Station online UPS mode offers 0 ms only at NEMA 5-20 outputs and is limited to 3,600 W; ordinary backup UPS transfer is under 20 ms. Do not generalize these numbers to the switch or every load. Equipment that cannot tolerate a transfer needs a suitable UPS and a compatibility test.

Placement may decide the package

One JE-5000A weighs about 134.5 lb; a pack adds about 81.6 lb. The Home Backup Kit contains two of each plus switch equipment, and the manufacturer does not give one total carry weight for everything. It is a planned installation, not a portable campsite kit. The manual calls the station for indoor use, lists a 0°C to 45°C charging range and -15°C to 45°C discharge range, and warns against rain and humidity. Keep it dry and protected.

Use the station-only review if you already own compatible solar hardware. Compare the two-panel offer, switch-only bundle, 10 kWh switch package and two-station Home Backup Kit. If your real need is only a few portable 120 V loads, compare lighter stations before committing to this equipment. No runtime, solar-yield or transfer-speed test was performed for this guide.
